When the Price is Right :: Lisa and Joe's Machine Shop Wedding

How did you two meet? - We met online dating. Joe reached out first and his picture and profile intrigued me, so after communicating for a couple of weeks, we set up an in person date. I had looked at the weather and left early to avoid the rain. Joe, the meteorologist, was tracking the storm but lost track of time. He had trouble parking and then it started to downpour. He didn't have an umbrella and had to sprint through the downpour to our date. He stuck out his hand, said Hello! I'm Joe! Do you mind if I go clean myself up? I, of course, said that was fine and was charmed pretty instantly. It was on our third date that I really started to fall.

Another fun story is how we got engaged - Joe travels for work and spent 3 weeks on the west coast. He's always had a dream of getting on the Price is Right (a game show) so he stayed a few days late in LA after business to attending a taping. After a rushed morning of getting stuck in LA traffic, finding parking, grabbing the wrong ticket, running back to the car to get the right ticket, he made it to the taping. After filling out paperwork, meeting the producer (where he told them he was there to make it rain (money)), he actually got chosen to participate in the show. He called me afterward and was super excited and told me he got on the show!! He wouldn't tell me a ton of details but he did tell me he won something. The taping was in April but the episode wouldn't air until June. We DVR'd the episode because I was at work when it aired.

We sat down to watch the episode and round after round someone else would win. It was finally Joe's last chance so I knew whatever came on the screen he won. The announcer says, "A beautiful woman with a beautiful piece of jewelry." On the screen walks a 1/2 carat diamond engagement ring. Joe pauses the tv and proposes. I of course say yes and was in shock. This is why we decided to have a grand entrance to the Price Is Right Theme!
