The day was simply spectacular! Lots of people must have prayed hard, because the day before and the day after the weather was absolutely nuts (we're talking hurricane strength rains and trees knocked over), but the day of the wedding was absolutely amazing!!
Jason and Ezgi are a couple near and dear to my heart <3 (they remind me so much of when David and I met in Poland, and fell in love, head over heels). Their Turkish/American wedding was one of my favorites - beautiful, intimate, and uber romantic. Surrounded by their closest friends end family, everyone chipping in to make these festivities a possibility, hosted at the family cabin in Crosslake Minnesota on Rush Lake, and... just my kind of event. The favors specifically brought the flavor, quite literally, from Turkey - beautiful dried flower and fruit Turkish tea in cute little jars. Jason went all out at hanging bulbous lights with engineering precision, transforming the under-deck area into a cozy dance floor. Speeches in English and Turkish brought smiles, bursts of laughs, and tears (to me including), as everyone expressed their love and excitement for Jason and Ezgi's new life together. Overall, definitely a day I was hoping would last longer. Wishing you guys all the best, and in Neil Gaiman's words:
"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in there next year, you surprise yourself."
